| Export Notebooks |
|
When people move from lab to lab or organization to organization, notebooks - intellectual property - frequently migrate as well. Don't lose any more data! If your corporate business policies allow, an authorized administrator can export CERF notebooks as printable/archivable PDF's, or as ZIP archive files that contain all of the files and data from the notebook - ready to import into a new CERF server, or extract to work with the original files in any non-CERF environment. Alternately, if your organization is concerned about security, exporting notebooks can be disallowed - the best of both worlds.

| Microsoft Office Integration |
|
There's no reason to switch from your favorite tools when you work in CERF. You can launch Microsoft Office applications directly from within the Notebook Viewer and create a document that is immediately stored on the CERF
server. By accessing these files directly inside CERF, you are taking advantage of CERF's version control, audit trails, and secure collaboration features. Microsoft Office documents can be displayed inline as printed PDFs in the Notebook Viewer and, for PC users, Microsoft Office documents can be edited inline within the native application in Notebook Resource Pages.

| View Data Inside Notebook |
|
CERF supports the integration of viewers into the electronic lab notebook. If you are working with a supported data type, the data will be visible along side your notes. There is no need to open a separate program or tab back and forth between windows.

| Streamlined Data Acquisition |

CERF's automation client allows you to import data directly from instruments and other sources. This data is available within the notebook, stored in its original format, and can be exported for regulatory complaince.

| Forms and Templates |
|
Much of research involves recording data, and this task may involve many people across your organization. Templates provide a means for standardizing procedures and increasing the accuracy and efficiency of data input. As with all resources in CERF, templates have associated metadata that provide a complete audit history and added search capability. Templates and forms are easily customized - either by Rescentris, or by your CERF administrator or power users - to suit your requirements.
